A commission for ~RawSushi-Kitty, thank you very much for commissioning me!
This is her character Hitomi. Such a lovely character, and painting that fighting-fan was fun!

Photoshop.

Nothing quite like a blonde woman in a kimono.

You're welcome :D

About the first tutorial where you paint your picture in grayscale; I'm trying that now and it's working just great to figure out values! But, when you put the color you do that always in Photoshop, or do you use SAI sometimes?

I only use Photoshop at the moment; I used to have SAI trial but it expired and I started to use mac and SAI is not available for that system... now I use windows again so I might try out sai again at some point!
And I'm happy to hear the tutorial's been useful to you!

Awesome! And I'm sure the colors can be added in SAI too, but you gotta figure out the best technique yourself (which might lead into great results so go for it!) :w00t:

When I tried the shadows remained grey, maybe I should just merge the layers once their all shaded (I usually work in separate layers for everything, I find it easier to work that way)

But I might try with Photoshop if I can't figure how to do it in SAI

Yeah, it's usually better to merge everything once the greyscale's done. :) Keeps things simpler, and file easier for the computer to run. :)
