Here's a pirate-girl made by ~merrine! The character is an adoptable, I'm participating in a contest to win her as my character. X3 Wish me luck!

I was making a full-body painting of her but my computer decided to kill the file! So I quickly started painting this one, it's just a face-shot but if I win I'll surely make a full body piece sooner or later.

I painted this in a shape suitable for a wallpaper and wanted to submit a large version, so here you go; feel free to use this as your desktop background, but do not sell or upload elsewhere!
I'm so happy that the curls ended up looking like curls, at first they looked more like dead fish. Also first time painting ropes. So this was a chance to practice lots of new stuff!

Name: Meri (means "sea" in Finnish and reflects the name of the designer of the character as well )
Age: 21
Background: The only daughter of a very ordinary couple from a small village. Parents own an old second-hand bookstore and she grew up reading all sorts of adventurous stories. Grew up studying and being a normal kid but always wanted to find treasures and unexplored islands. Found a particularily interesting, dusty old book from her parents shop, one thing led to another and she ended up being a pirate instead of a librarian, go figure!}
